Project

The project solution is divided into four sub-goals:

The aim of the first stage (DC01) is to document and make available old, damaged, difficult to access (i) statistical data on population development, demographic and socio-cultural structure and (ii) create new spatial GIS data (shp layers, geodatabase) for the period of Prague development and its suburbs in the period of industrialization (from the middle of the 19th century to the establishment of Greater Prague) and process them into two specialized public databases.

The aim of the second stage (DC02) is to create specialized maps focused on the analysis of changes in the socio-spatial structure of the population of Prague and the social environment of suburban localities. From a cartographic point of view, the research will take into account changes in the borders of Prague and its suburbs during the 19th and 20th centuries. Specialized maps will be divided into four thematic blocks focused on four stages in the development of Prague suburbs.

The aim of the third stage (DC03) is to create a Historical Population Atlas of Prague. The atlas will focus on the cartographic elaboration of the development, structure, and distribution of demographic, cultural, economic, and social characteristics of the population of Prague from the 19th century to the present.

The aim of the fourth stage (DC04) is to present the results of research work in the domestic and international fields. As part of this sub-objective, peer-reviewed articles will be published in professional journals, and a conference and exhibition will be organized, accompanied by the publication of a professional catalog.
